If you enjoy walking you have a choice of leisurely strolls from the park or there are many lovely walks in the area varying from a gentle stroll to a high fell climb.

There are walks around Ullswater or if you travel north around Talkin Tarn (pictured above) near Brampton.

An easy stroll goes along the route of the old Keswick railway and in the same area is Blencathra or Saddleback one of the most northerly fells in the Lake District for the more energetic both just a 15-minute drive from the park.
